Leeds fans critical of Tyler Roberts display for Under-23s

Tyler Roberts got a run out for Leeds’ Under-23s side on Friday night – and many of the club’s supporters on Twitter were critical of his performance.

The Whites fielded a fairly strong team filled with senior players, as Carlos Corberan’s side beat Notts County 2-1.

There were eight Leeds players fielded that had Championship experience and the youth team picked up a win through goals from Izzy Brown and Ryan Edmondson.

Roberts was one of the senior players used and he has a game to forget.

The 20-year-old centre-forward spurned a handful of glorious goalscoring opportunities and lacked composure in front of goal.

His finishing completely let him down and it was a big opportunity missed to impress senior manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Roberts has been a first-team regular at Elland Road this season, but has hardly cemented his spot in the team and had to make do with several substitute appearances.

The Wales international has some sizeable task of dislodging Kemar Roofe or Patrick Bamford from the striker role, but he does have the flexibility to play as an attacking midfielder too.

A selection of Leeds fans ripped into Roberts for his display with the Under-23s and believe he has to become more clinical.
