Leeds fans cannot believe what Adam Forshaw has said about promotion
Adam Forshaw has told the Leeds That podcast that he is confident Leeds United will “romp” towards promotion following the return of the Championship season – and Leeds supporters are worried he has jinxed it.
Leeds are set to return to action on Sunday, 21 June with a trip to Cardiff City in a midday kick-off that has been chosen for TV. The Whites remain top of the Championship, a point above West Brom.
But more importantly – as they look to end their 16-year wait for Premier League football following the financial collapse and relegation in 2004 – the Whites are seven points above the play-offs, with Fulham in third.
Speaking to Leeds That podcast this week, injured midfielder Forshaw gave a somewhat surprisingly confident prediction that the Whites will cruise to promotion – despite falling away last season and losing in the play-offs.

“I’m convinced, I’m not just saying that, or being biased as we’re all Leeds,” Forshaw, 28, said about promotion. “There will be no-one as driven as us and I know how we train behind closed doors.
“I think it is going to be a formality for us. That is my personal view, I think we are going to romp it.”
The difficult trip to Cardiff is then followed by what could be a crucial clash in terms of promotion, as the Whites play host to Fulham. The Bundesliga has shown that playing at home is hardly an advantage, without the fans.
Struggling Luton, Stoke, Charlton and Barnsley also stand in Leeds way, as do last season’s play-off rivals Derby, as well as Swansea and Blackburn. Leeds fans reacted to Forshaw’s claim, and many are worried he has jinxed it.

Saying that will certainly motivate the opposition. Why? Just let the football talk.
