Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has threatened to quit Elland Road if he doesn’t win back the number one jersey – and some of the club’s supporters have responded furiously to his comments.
The 22-year-old ended the campaign as the second-choice goalkeeper behind ex-Real Madrid ace Kiko Casilla.
Both were guilty of individual errors during the course of the season, but it’s the Spaniard who had the gloves for Marcelo Bielsa’s team going into the play-offs.
Peacock-Farrell, who is a product of the Leeds academy, has come out with some bold comments that he needs the number one position.
The Northern Ireland international has explained his desire to play next season and hinted at a possible departure if that’s not the case.
“If I stay at Leeds I’ll be staying at Leeds to play,” the 22-year-old said,” he said, as quoted by Yahoo Sport.
“The two scenarios would probably be I’m staying at Leeds and I’m playing or I’ll have to be elsewhere I think.”
