Leeds fans believe Jamie Shackleton should be in contention to play against QPR

Leeds United travel to QPR on Saturday afternoon in the Championship – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have urged manager Marcelo Bielsa to recall Jamie Shackleton.

The Whites travel to Loftus Road for an important league fixture and need to try bounce back from a home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

They currently occupy second in the league table in an automatic promotion spot, but third-placed Brentford are only six points adrift and upcoming opponents QPR on their day can be a real threat.

Leeds did beat 15th-placed QPR 2-0 in the previous meeting this season at Elland Road, but they have struggled on their trips to London in recent times.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media have suggested that Shackleton should be promoted to the starting XI at the weekend.

The 20-year-old has had some horrid luck with a hamstring injury during the past few months, but is being eased back into the picture.

He was an unused substitute against Sheffield Wednesday and he managed a goal in midweek during a game for the club’s Under-23s.

The central midfielder brings an incredible tenacity and work-rate to the Leeds side whenever he plays, which could help inject some extra spark to the team.
