Leeds fans are hoping Bamford’s form turns around after England squad update

Leeds United fans are hoping Patrick Bamford can finish the season strongly following confirmation today that this summer’s EUROs will see nations be allowed to bring 26 players to the tournament rather than the previous number of 23.

UEFA confirmed on their official website that countries competing in the EUROs will be granted three extra players for the continental tournament in response to allowing more rest time for those who will be called up after a long league campaign, with most clubs not having a pre-season for this year given the condensed schedule.

The news was well-received on social media as it allows players to earn more rest from this season as well as offers the opportunity for three more names to make the final squad for the EUROs, and for Leeds supporters, they are hoping a strong finish from Bamford could see the striker claim a spot in Gareth Southgate’s team.

Bamford has been Leeds’ top goalscorer this season, with the 27-year-old striker 14 goals in the Premier League in 34 appearances.
