Mateusz Klich lasted 70 minutes of Poland’s UEFA Nations League 0-0 draw with Italy on Sunday evening as the Leeds United midfielder’s side did well to hold out Roberto Mancini’s side – and Whites fans have applauded their star.
Klich, 30, has been a crucial part of Marcelo Bielsa’s side over the past two years – missing just one Championship match during Bielsa’s first two seasons at the club. He has retained his place in the side since Leeds gained promotion to the top tier.
His rise under Bielsa has seen him become a regular in Poland’s national side, and he took his tally to 25 Poland caps on Sunday evening as he helped his country earn an excellent point against Italy – despite struggling with his passing.
WhoScored claim that Klich managed just 27 passes during his 70-minute display – and only 13 proved successful at a rate of 48%. He posted on Instagram after the match, showing his delight as Poland drew with Italy.
His outing against Italy was his sixth appearance of the 2020-21 season for club and country, after scoring two goals in his first four Premier League appearances – against Liverpool and Fulham. The £1.5million signing is proving to be a bargain (YEP).
Luke Ayling responded to his Instagram post, while Leeds fans were also full of praise for the former Wolfsburg and FC Twente midfielder for his display against Italy on Sunday evening.
