Leeds United recorded their first win in London since 2017 by beating Fulham on Friday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out Kalvin Phillips for his individual display.
The Whites have held a miserable record on their visits to the capital in recent years, but that ended in the Premier League tonight.
Leeds earned three league points with a 2-1 victory away to Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Whites striker Patrick Bamford, who is perhaps unfortunate not to earn a call-up to the latest England squad, opened the scoring with an emphatic low finish inside the box.
Joachim Andersen did equalise for Fulham to make it 1-1 before half time, but the visitors found a winner in the 58th minute through Brazilian winger Raphinha.
It means that Marcelo Bielsa’s side are now 11th in the table with 39 points, and it feels like they are pretty much safe from relegation now after an excellent first season so far on their return to the top flight.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media believe Phillips was an outstanding player on the park against Fulham.
The 25-year-old deep-lying midfielder helped run the show in the centre of the pitch, as he was so effective in possession and he protected his teammates behind.
It’s easy to see why he’s about to join up with the England squad after his latest call-up, making such a difference when he’s in the XI.
Here are some Whites fans discussing Phillips:
