Leeds United moved into the top half of the Premier League table with a win on Saturday afternoon – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left raving about the performance of Diego Llorente.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side returned after the international break to beat Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United 2-1 at Elland Road.

Jack Harrison finished off a superb goal in the 12th minute to give Leeds the advantage, before Ben Osborn equalised on the stroke of half time for the visitors.

Ultimately, the Whites earned three points due to Phil Jagielka’s own goal early in the second half. However, they had a hatful of chances where they should have put the game to bed.

Leeds now have 42 points from 30 league games, and smashing the 40-point barrier with eight games left in their first season back in the Premier League is some achievement.

A selection of Leeds supporters on social media picked out their defender Llorente for his display.

The 27-year-old centre-back has had massive problems with injuries during his first season at Elland Road, but it looks like his luck is turning too.

He’s now started six consecutive league matches, and is such a commanding figure in the heart of defence that goes about his work with such calmness.

Here are some Leeds fans discussing Spain international Llorente:
