Leeds duo post injury updates on Instagram ahead of Derby clash

Leeds United duo Kemar Roofe and Adam Forshaw have both given updates on Instagram after they suffered injuries against Derby County on Saturday evening in the play-off first leg victory over Derby County.

Roofe scored his 15th goal of the season to give Leeds a 1-0 advantage going into the second leg at Elland Road. It gives Marcelo Bielsa’s side a big advantage, given the second clash is on home soil.

But Leeds will be without both Roofe and Forshaw, who started the play-off semi-final at Pride Park, as both suffered calf injuries. Forshaw was replaced by Jamie Shackleton in the first half, while Jack Clarke came on for Roofe.

Bielsa stated in his press conference that Roofe and Forshaw would miss the match, as would Gjanni Alioski, Barry Douglas and Leif Davis – and the two injured stars have since posted on Instagram.

Losing Forshaw is perhaps not the biggest blow, given Shackleton came off the bench in the 24th minute and was arguably one of Leeds’ best players. The 19-year-old is now expected to start on Wednesday.

However, losing Roofe is an enormous blow given the striker looked back to his best on Saturday, and finally ended his goal drought. Bamford has hardly been at his best, but Bielsa has little choice.

Pontus Jansson could also return to the fold after narrowly missing out from playing in the first leg, while Tyler Roberts is also expected to miss the second leg.
