Leeds United defender Barry Douglas was an extremely popular addition when he joined in the summer from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £3million (Sky Sports).
The 29-year-old arrived at Elland Road to fix the problem left-back area and he quickly made the position his own under Argentinian manager Marcelo Bielsa.
He’s managed four assists in his 22 appearances for the Championship leaders this campaign, but has been hit with a couple of injury knocks along the way.
The Scottish defender is currently nearing a return from his latest setback, but he could find himself in a position that seemed impossible at the start of the season.
Douglas seems the only realistic choice in the starting XI at left-back at the beginning of the season, but he may now be under genuine threat from teammate Ezgjan Alioski.

Alioski is a usually a winger and he’s shown his versatility by dropping into a deeper role in recent games to fill the full-back role.
The 27-year-old has been reborn in the position and is now arguably playing his best football of the season.
He offers a greater attacking threat bombing on from left-back than Douglas has shown in a Leeds shirt so far and the tireless work-rate he brings to the team is infectious too.
It is going to be healthy competition between the pair for the position and right now in-form Alioski surely holds the cards.
