Leeds United have seemingly received a big boost in their reported pursuit of Emi Buendia, with Norwich City open to cashing in on the playmaker this summer, according to a report from the PA News Agency (via FourFourTwo).
Read Norwich reported last month that Leeds had made an enquiry for Buendia.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are gearing up for their return to the Premier League. And it appears that they want the Argentine who scored once and provided seven assists for the Canaries this past season.
There are likely to be plenty of Norwich fans hoping to see Buendia stay as Daniel Farke’s men look to make an immediate return to the top flight.
But it appears that they are planning for life without the 23-year-old.
The PA News Agency (via FourFourTwo) reports that Norwich are open to offers for Buendia in the region of £20 million.
And the report adds that Buendia is keen to continue playing at the highest level and would prioritise the chance to stay in England.
TBR View: Leeds have fantastic opportunity to secure Buendia
It does appear that the stage is set for Leeds to make their move for Buendia. Norwich are open to offers and Buendia himself would seemingly welcome the chance to stay in the Premier League.
Of course, the Whites would need to agree a fee with the Canaries. And it would perhaps be a surprise if they were the only club tempted to make a move for Buendia over the coming weeks.
But there looks to be a real opportunity for Leeds.
