Leeds attacker Tyler Roberts posts a cryptic eight-word message on Instagram
Leeds attacker Tyler Roberts has posted a cryptic eight-word message on Instagram as he looks to break into Marcelo Bielsa’s starting line-up for the first time since October – while also being linked with a January exit.
Roberts, 22, began the season in the starting line-up – starting two of the first four Premier League fixtures. But since October 3, the Wales international has failed to start for Leeds, coming on as a sub in eight of his 10 league outings this season.
Patrick Bamford continues to play up front having netted 10 goals in 19 league games, while Rodrigo has nailed down a place in attacking midfield alongside Mateusz Klich – or Stuart Dallas against Newcastle United on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Mail, five Championship clubs were linked with Roberts earlier this month – including Derby and Cardiff. Amid his nominal number of starts, Roberts posted an eight-word message on Instagram, perhaps linking to his lack of game time.
TBR’s view – Should Roberts have left the club on loan?
Nigel Martyn previously told The Boot Room this month that he feels Leeds need back-up for Bamford, but that Roberts is not quite up to that – and that perhaps a loan is needed. His sub appearances have improved, but a loan would benefit him more.
Instead, Roberts has been playing in Premier League 2 with the Under-23’s. His three goals and two assists in five outings clearly show he is above that level – but he is only getting sub appearances at senior level. A loan for the attacker would be ideal.
