Premier League newcomers Aston Villa are looking to take advantage of Kemar Roofe’s contract situation at Leeds United, according to the Daily Star.
The 26-year-old is about to enter talks with the Whites over an extension to his existing deal which expires next summer.
Aston Villa hope to steal in and tempt Roofe into a switch to the newly promoted outfit, however.
The ex-Oxford United man netted 15 times for the Whites last season but the second half of his campaign was blighted with injuries.

A worrying piece of news from The Mirror claims that Roofe might make Leeds wait before penning an extension.
As the striker will become a free agent next summer he could have a whole host of clubs chasing his signature, with Roofe in a strong position.
TBR Verdict
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa won’t want to lose Roofe from his ranks.
It would be a reasonable suggestion to say that the Whites would have won automatic promotion had Roofe been fit for more of the second half of the campaign.

He netted a vital goal in the play-off semi-final first-leg against Derby but missed the second leg through injury.
He has been a quality player since arriving at Elland Road and his contract situation must be a priority this summer.
Aston Villa will enter the market for new players this summer. Strikers will definitely be on Dean Smith’s list of targets, but whether Roofe is what he needs remains to be seen.
Smith played with Tammy Abraham in the attack last season and given that Roofe is a different type of player, his arrival could indicate a system change from the Villa boss.
