Leeds United’s Under-18 star Morten Spencer has been called up by Norway to represent the Under-15 side against England on October 25 – and the young midfielder has posted on Twitter in delighted fashion.

Spencer, 15, joined Leeds back in March after signing a contract with the Whites to join the under-18 side. Previously, he had been with Sunderland’s academy, but has since been turning out for Mark Jackson’s youth side.

Highly-rated at his age, Spencer is able to represent both England and Norway and the left winger has previously represented England’s Under-15 side. But he has now seemingly switched his allegiance and is preparing to wear the red of Norway.

Spencer was part of the Leeds Under-16 side that beat Nottingham Forest on penalties to win the Esposende Cup in Portugal in the summer, and he posted on Twitter after being called up to take on England’s Under-15 side in two weeks’ time.

The winger, who can also play in attacking midfield and has regularly worn the number 10 shirt for Leeds’ Under-18 side, won England Under-15 caps back in April and May against Italy and the United States.

Spencer will now be preparing to go up against the Three Lions and a handful of familar faces in a fortnight, as he changes his allegiance to Norway. It remains to be seen if that decision will be his final one.
