Lee Dixon singled out Richarlison as a real positive point from Everton’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night.
Everton were beaten by a two-goal margin at Goodison Park in a Premier League fixture.
Despite the fact the teams were level on the hour mark, Man City eventually overran the Toffees and stretched their lead at the top of the Premier League table to 10 points.
They are now on a 17-game winning streak across all competitions and are brushing all opponents aside.
Richarlison, 23, levelled in the first half with a fortunate goal that bounced off him on the goal-line, but perhaps he deserved that luck due to his work-rate in attack.
The £90,000-a-week (Spotrac) Brazilian filled into the central striker position due to the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and showed his versatility with a combative display.
Dixon believes that the versatile attacker deserved a special mention for his efforts in midweek against Man City.
“I think Richarlison was really good today. I think he really did his job, it was tough up there because he was on his own. A lot of the time he won free-kicks. I thought he played well,” Dixon told Amazon Prime (10:42pm, 17 February).

TBR’s View:
Richarlison is much more effective in his preferred left-winger position and likes to work off central figure Calvert-Lewin, but he did a good stand-in job against Man City.
It was always going to be a long night for him where he was mainly left isolated up the pitch.
He did though show plenty of heart with his gritty display, as he chased down lost causes continuously with great energy and supporters have become accustomed to his fiery character.
He’s now scored nine goals in 24 games across all competitions this season.
