Lee Bowyer has told Sky Sports’ The Football Show on Wednesday (10.20am) that Charlton Athletic striker has a “queue of clubs” ready to sign him on a free this summer – amid reported interest from Rangers.
Taylor, 30, has been in stunning form for the Addicks over the past couple of seasons after moving to The Valley in the summer of 2018. He scored 25 goals and laid on 13 assists as Charlton gained promotion in 2018-19.
This time around, Taylor has been limited to 22 appearances due to injury – scoring 11 times in the Championship. However, that 1-in-2 form has seen clubs become interested, with Taylor out of contract this summer.
Indeed, Taylor does not want to play the remaining fixtures for Charlton given his current contract situation – as he and two other Charlton players are worried injury could affect a future move this summer.
TeamTalk state that Rangers are one of a number of clubs keen on Taylor but face competition from a number of English clubs including Premier League trio Bournemouth, Palace and Burnley. Bowyer spoke about his future.
