Arsenal are set to host Manchester City in the Premier League on New Year’s day and like he always does before this fixture, Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on the Gunners.
The Spaniard’s good pal Mikel Arteta is the manager of Arsenal. Even in the toughest of times for the Gunners, Pep always backed his compatriot. Arsenal stuck by Arteta in those difficult periods and they are in a really good place now.
The Gunners are currently fourth in the table and will face City this weekend after a bunch of excellent results. Guardiola too has been impressed with Arteta’s team.
The City boss, whose side picked up a good win against Brentford last night, was interviewed by Amazon Prime Video after the game. He lavished praise on his side’s next opponents in the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola praises Arsenal
The Manchester City boss said last night, as per The Evening Standard: “We play on January 1 against, maybe, right now, one of the best teams on top form right now, Arsenal.
“Maybe we get them in their best moment in the last four, five or six years – I’m sure everyone will agree with me.”
Arsenal now look the best version of themselves in recent years and that should give them a lot of confidence ahead of the game against City at the Emirates on Sunday.

However, some Arsenal fans are a bit worried now due to Guardiola’s comments.
Every time Arsenal face Manchester City, Guardiola only has good things to say about Arteta and his side. Right after his positive comments, his players smash four or five goals past the Gunners, just like they did in the game at the Etihad back in August.
Arsenal fans seem tired of this and here’s how a few of them reacted to Pep’s latest comments…
