Arsenal were poor against Porto on Wednesday evening.
The Gunners lacked any sort of cutting edge in their Champions League clash this week, and they absolutely deserved their 1-0 defeat.
Many of Arsenal’s top players, quite simply, didn’t turn up on the day, and perhaps the most disappointing of the bunch was Bukayo Saka.
Saka is a player you can usually always rely on to step up when the chips are down, but this time, the winger was, much like many of his teammates, largely invisible in this game.
Speaking on Virgin Media Sport, Brian Kerr has been discussing Arsenal’s attacking output in this game, and he says that Saka was disappointing, claiming that it’s the least effective he’s been in any game this season.

Bukayo Saka was ineffective
The pundit shared his verdict on the winger’s showing.
“The other forwards, Trossard, Saka, Martinelli, they were ineffective. I think it was the least effective match Saka we’ve seen Saka have this season perhaps. The back four did ok, there was very little from the full-backs in terms of support,” Kerr said.
Disappointing
It has to be said that Saka’s showing here was very disappointing.
We’ve waited for years to see what the winger could do in a big Champions League knockout game, and this is what he’s produced.
Of course, everyone has their off days, but Saka’s poor display has come at the worst possible time for Arsenal as they look to shake their Champions League last 16 hoodoo.
Luckily for Saka and his teammates, the second leg is only around the corner and there is the chance to put things right, but if Arsenal are to get through this tie, they need players such as Saka to step up and play much better than they did on Wednesday.
