Leandro Trossard says Arsenal have a youngster who is actually ‘so strong’ ahead of Dinamo Zagreb clash

Being one of the senior players at Arsenal, Leandro Trossard must be a role-model to several of the bright young talents at London Colney.

Leandro Trossard, 30 has plenty of years of Premier League experience under his belt for both Arsenal as well as Brighton & Hove Albion.

Throughout his career, the Belgian international would have come across a plethora of talented young players and Arsenal certainly have plenty of them at their disposal.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is one who has caught the eye the most in recent weeks.

Lewis-Skelly admitted to mirroring Kieran Tierney’s game as he has come leaps and bounds as a left-back at senior level.

Mikel Arteta admitted Lewis-Skelly’s brilliance surprises him as the highly-rated teenager will prove vital for Arsenal as they try to leapfrog Premier League leaders Liverpool in the title race.

Leandro Trossard says Myles Lewis-Skelly is “so strong”

Trossard has had the chance to play right in front of the 18-year-old in recent weeks, with the pair providing their side a dangerous dynamic down the left flank.

Ahead of Arsenal’s meeting with Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, the former Brighton attacker was quizzed about the Englishman.

Trossard was full of praise for Lewis-Skelly, pointing how strong he is despite his tender age.

The Arsenal forward said via HaytersTV: “I think he has shown his qualities over the past few weeks to everyone. We have seen it already over the past months that he had the capability of doing that and now he is showing it on the big stage.”

“He’s such a good player, so strong as well for his age, it’s unbelievable and also down to earth and that’s also one of his biggest qualities. He is also same as Ethan [Nwaneri], a bright future ahead of him and I’m really pleased for those two.”

Declan Rice lauded Lewis-Skelly’s strength as well after the recent North London Derby by comparing his ability to hold opponents off to that of former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Dembele.

Lewis-Skelly is a top talent and as he plays more first-team football, he will only further improve physically.

The idea of protecting a young prospect like Lewis-Skelly with so much pressure on his shoulders was also brought up during the pre-match press conference to Trossard.

The Gunners winger stated that his teammate has a brilliant mentality, has the quality to play at the highest level and is aware of the circumstances surrounding him.

“Yeah, definitely, I think you always try to speak to them. I think, as I said before, he’s really down to earth and he knows what he’s dealing with.”

“It’s still soon, he only has played a couple of games.”

“But yeah, he’s a class player and as I said, the more games he will play, the better he will get I think.”

Bukayo Saka told Lewis-Skelly he should back himself as he belongs at the highest level ahead of Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over AS Monaco.

The Arsenal wonderkid is certainly showing that he has taken Saka’s advice.

Lewis-Skelly’s quality has been praised and he will now be hoping to get remain a consistent fixture in the side by starting against not just Dinamo Zagreb but in his boyhood club’s important league games against Manchester City and Nottingham Forest to name a few.
