The name of Lautaro Martinez has been one mentioned for some time now when it comes to Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Inter Milan star Martinez is one of the hottest properties on the continent when it comes to goal scorers. A regular for the Serie A side, it’s little wonder he has been linked with so many clubs, including Spurs and Arsenal, in recent transfer windows. Of course, reports have suggested Arsenal have blown their chance of signing him after missing out on Champions League football.

However, all is not lost for Tottenham, according to journalist, Dean Jones. Speaking on the Football Terrace podcast, Jones covered a host of topics, including Martinez, and shared some information he’d received on the forward.

“At this stage, it’s not likely (that Martinez leaves Inter for England), but I was told that it’s still possible. If it’s going to happen, it won’t be to Arsenal, it could be to Tottenham.

“That was the information I given over the weekend. Arsenal missed out on the CL and that’s that. The fact that Tottenham have qualified gives them a better chance, if they want to go for him,” Jones said on the FT.

Lauded as ‘spectacular’ by Lionel Messi, Martinez could be open to leaving Inter should they be successful in bringing Romelu Lukaku back to Italy.

TBR’s View: Martinez Going To Tottenham Would Hurt Arsenal

Gunners fans might have to get used to this during the summer. Missing out on the top four has big implications and if Spurs beat them to Martinez, it would sting massively.

But this is the price you pay as a club for missing out. Tottenham got the job done and with that, they are able to attract better players. Lautaro Martinez is one of those better players, and he wants to play Champions League football.
