‘Laughably bad’ – Newcastle fans take aim at Ayoze Perez after Chelsea loss

Newcastle United were edged out by Chelsea in yesterday’s evening game and they subsequently dropped into the bottom three.

The Magpies fell to 18th in the league after Chelsea completed a 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge.

Pedro gave Chelsea an early lead but Newcastle hit back when Ciaran Clark headed in from a corner just before half time.

But Willian’s curling effort proved to be enough to see Chelsea through to victory.

After the game, Newcastle fans expressed their disappointment with a few of their players, who have been below par this season.

Among the players criticised was Ayoze Perez, who was once again ineffective in attack for Newcastle.

The 25-year-old has shown glimpses of his ability this season but is too often disappointing with his end product.

Perez has scored twice this season, which is an underwhelming tally for an attacking player.

With 23 Premier League goals since his 2014 move from Tenerife, many Newcastle supporters think the Spaniard should be doing better.
