Tottenham Hotspur have two games to save their season from complete disaster, with a meeting against London rivals Chelsea up next.

The Blues are in FA Cup final action over the weekend, facing Manchester City in the showpiece, while Spurs have an extra few days off to rest and train ahead of what is a huge game in their 2025/26 campaign.

But the latest Tottenham training photos, which were posted to the club’s Instagram account, have left many pleading for second-choice goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky to keep his place ahead of a returning Guglielmo Vicario.

Tottenham fans want Antonin Kinsky to start vs Chelsea despite Guglielmo Vicario return

The Italian has made 31 Premier League appearances so far this season, keeping seven clean sheets and conceding 50.

But he has been sidelined for Spurs’ last five league matches, in which they have picked up two wins, two draws and lost on one occasion.

Kinsky has started all of those ties, and after seeing the Vicario pictured in training on Friday, many of the Tottenham faithful have now demanded that the Czech Republic shot-stopper keep his place for the remainder of the season.

One fan wrote: “Kinsky deserves to start the last two games.”

A second echoed: “Kinsky should start even [if] Vicario is back,” with another commenting: “Kinski has to start in these last two games or even be a starter for the rest of next season because Vicar is leaving the club.”

“No Vicario please,” added a fourth, followed by three folded hand emojis.

“Jump scare at the end,” wrote another in reference to the goalkeeper’s photo being the final image shared in the post.

A sixth simply commented: “No Vicario, thank you, he can sit on the bench. Kinsky, please,” while a seventh Spurs fan simply stated: “Keep Vicario on the bench, let Kinsky start.”

Roberto De Zerbi’s verdict on Antonin Kinsky

It’s a strange situation to be in for Spurs fans, who don’t want their actual number one to come back into the eleven in the midst of a relegation battle, but then again, nothing about Tottenham’s season has made much sense.

It remains to be seen if Kinsky will get the nod over Vicario when the Lilywhites meet Chelsea this coming Tuesday.

But Roberto De Zerbi has already made it clear that he is a fan of Spurs’ second-choice goalkeeper, showering him in praise after the recent draw with Leeds United.

He said: “He’s improving a lot. He’s a good goalkeeper. I had no doubt in my first days in Tottenham because I knew him before coming here. He played in Madrid, he made that mistake, and it was tough for him. He has great personality, strong character and he deserves to play a game like today.”
