Tanguy Ndombele’s future at Tottenham Hotspur remains in the balance with Jose Mourinho clearly not a fan of the French midfielder – and the latest reports about a potential addition surely pushes Ndombele closer to the exit.
Since the restart, 23-year-old Ndombele has failed to play a single minute – remaining an unused substitute against Manchester United and West Ham United. His last appearance saw him hooked at half-time against Burnley.
The midfielder has been linked with a summer exit, even if Daniel Levy wants to keep him. With Spurs likely to need to sell players if they want to buy any of Mourinho’s targets – the latter being Lazio ace Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
French outlet Foot Mercato have suggested that Mourinho’s dream summer signing would be the 25-year-old Serb, who is regarded as one of the best central midfielders in Italian football. He has helped Lazio climb to second.

The report states that Mourinho is dreaming of landing Milinkovic-Savic and it is also claimed that Spurs have the financial backing to be able to complete a move. A powerful midfielder, he is renowned for his runs from deep.
Much like Ndombele, he can score goals from the middle of the park but is also powerful and excellent in the air -standing at a lofty 6ft 3in. Spurs have failed to replace Mousa Dembele, but Milinkovic-Savic could be the man.
Given that Mourinho is desperate to sign the Lazio midfielder, and that he is very much in the mould of Ndombele – surely signing Milinkovic-Savic would see Spurs look to offload the Frenchman?
Landing Milinkovic-Savic would be bad news for Ndombele, if he harbours any aspiration of staying at Spurs.
