Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz has produced another fine display, this time for Spain.
The 23-year-old was highly impressive against Sweden in his country’s Euro 2020 qualifier, and it is becoming clearer by the week that he is a special talent.
Ruiz was at the heart of everything for Spain, and finished the game with one assist and 94% pass accuracy from 100 passes. He also made four key passes, six succssful long passes, and won all five of his attempted challenges (via FootballTalentScout).
It is only the latest in a string of great performances from Ruiz this season, and the star’s value is only increasing.
Ruiz was recently linked with a move to Liverpool (Calciomercato), and surely his latest display justifies the Reds’ apparent interest.
Ruiz is a player that makes things happen in the final third.
He has outstanding vision and has the ability to split defences with his brilliant passing.
At the moment, Liverpool’s midfield is probably the weakest area of their starting XI – although that is probably extremely harsh to say given how they have fared in recent times.
As impressive as that midfield has been in terms of work rate, something it lacks is a bit of creativity.
James Milner and Adam Lallana probably don’t have too long left at Anfield, and the jury is still out on Naby Keita.
If Liverpool sign the creative talent that is Ruiz, then their midfield could well reach new heights.
