Jamie Redknapp noticed what Arsenal players did after Aaron Ramsdale made a mistake against Brentford.

The 50-year-old spoke about the incident on Sky Sports at the interval.

So, what did Jamie Redknapp see from Arsenal players after Aaron Ramsdale‘s mistake? Let’s take a look…

How Arsenal players reacted to Aaron Ramsdale mistake

Well, the Sky Sports pundit saw Arsenal players surrounding the England international to give him a “cuddle” after Yoane Wissa diverted his attempted clearance into the net.

Redknapp claimed that a cuddle would have been “the last thing” Ramsdale wants after committing an error like that.

The son of Harry Redknapp said: “I’m devastated for Aaron Ramsdale. How he must feel right now only he could tell us, because when you are in that position as a player and you have given away a goal it’s so difficult, you can see it.

“He has got to show some real character now in this second half. It’s great that all of his teammates are coming around him but the last thing you want after that is a cuddle.”

Of course, Arsenal players were simply showing support for a teammate, but Ramsdale surely didn’t want any sympathy after his horrible moment – just the chance to put it right, which he eventually did.

Redemption

It would have been so, so easy for Ramsdale to crumble in the second half after his mistake.

However, the £24m man showed immense levels of character to pull off a few outstanding saves and keep Arsenal in the game, notably from Ivan Toney’s dipping long range effort.

Ramsdale’s work in between the sticks ensured Arsenal could keep pushing for a winner, which came late on as Kai Havertz headed home to make it 2-1 in the 86th minute.

The 25-year-old glovesman received a huge hug from Mikel Arteta after full-time, and with three points in the bag, Ramsdale surely enjoyed that cuddle more than those half-time embraces.
