Harry Kane was the villain of the piece last night as his penalty ensured England cruelly bowed of the World Cup over in Qatar.
After initially dispatching his first penalty with ease past Hugo Lloris, Kane failed to replicate the trick as he blazed high over the bar with five minutes remaining. It left little time for England to get back into the game and in the end, the French held on for a 2-1 win.

Kane, of course, will be remembered for the penalty miss. Like so many England greats before him, he now has to live with the recurring nightmare of what might have been from 12 yards.
However, Kane is a resilient character and will be back stronger. And he plucked up the courage to post on Instagram this morning to outline just how gutted he was with the result.
And in a nod to just how popular Kane is among both England and Tottenham teammates, his replies on Insta were full of positive comments.
Among them, former teammate Erik Lamela and current Spurs winger, Dejan Kulusevski. The duo were among the first to get their replies in there, while a whole host of others had their say as well.

TBR’s View: Kane Instagram shows his worth
You can take a lot from the responses certain people get on social media.
Harry Kane is a model professional footballer and a top man off the field while being a world class striker on it.
Yes, he has a big penalty missed to his name. But Kane has stepped up time and again for England and never let his country down. He can be proud of his work as captain for the Three Lions and you can bet he’ll be raring to go come Euro 2024.
