Kyle Walker-Peters is someone currently struggling to break into the Tottenham match day squad and his prospects at the North London club don’t look strong moving forward.

After starting the season as the first-choice right-back, the 22-year-old fell out of favour following in his injury and now can’t break back into the plans of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs have had real problems at right-back and Walker-Peters hasn’t looked the solution, but neither have teammates Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth.

Pochettino has tried a number of different possibilities to find a successor for Kieran Trippier, but has had no luck so far.

The Daily Mail reports though that Spurs are going to priories a new right-back in the January transfer window, with Norwich City’s Max Aarons and West Brom’s Nathan Ferguson identified.

It looks like Spurs are desperate for a new right-sided defender and Pochettino is keen to find a fresh solution.

Walker-Peters doesn’t look like he’s going to win over Pochettino anytime soon and is no more than a squad player.

His lack of opportunities looks like it will only continue and it’s bad news for him if a new highly-rated right-back does join in January.

The Sun have previously reported that Spurs could look to loan him out with Crystal Palace interested and that may be a sign of where his immediate future lies.

He definitely needs to improve the attacking side of his game if he wants to be a long-term solution for Spurs and defensively he can be a little timid too.
