Kyle Walker-Peters replies to Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles’s Instagram

Kyle Walker-Peters has sent a message of encouragement to Ainsley Maitland-Niles after the Arsenal star took to Instagram to express his dismay at the Gunners’ defeat at the weekend.

Mikel Arteta is coming in for further criticism at the Emirates after another disappointing result. Arsenal were beaten 2-1 by Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

All of the goals came during the first-half. And despite having to try and find an equaliser, the visitors failed to produce a single attempt on target after the break.

A number of players came in for criticism following their performances. But Maitland-Niles was arguably one of the few who could hold his head up high.

The 23-year-old was one of their better performers, as he has often been in recent weeks. The youngster’s form in the Europa League seemed to force Arteta’s hand. And he has recently returned to the Premier League fold.

Unfortunately, he has been unable to inspire a turnaround in fortunes.

And following the defeat on Saturday, Maitland-Niles took to Instagram and admitted that he was left gutted by the result…

And amongst those to reply was Walker-Peters. Walker-Peters – who played alongside Maitland-Niles for England at various age groups – is obviously now at Southampton. But of course, he is a player with strong connections to Arsenal’s bitter rivals.

However, the right-back clearly had no intention of rubbing salt into the current wounds. Instead, he sent a classy message to the Gunners man…
