'I don't doubt him': Kyle Walker-Peters says Liverpool have a player whose character will see him succeed

Southampton defender, Kyle Walker-Peters, has said that he has no doubts about the quality Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold possesses.

The Liverpool right back has come under fire this season for a series of under-par performances which have left some believing he’ll be left out of the England squad this winter in Qatar.

However, with Liverpool preparing to face Arsenal tomorrow, Southampton’s Walker-Peters has said that Trent won’t be affected and his quality will tell in the end.

“I’ve played with him a few times in the 21s and I know his quality. I mean he’s shown it in the Premier League for the last 3-4 years now. You know, people are always going to comment on your performances,” Walker-Peters said to TalkSPORT.

“As footballers we’re used to it. I don’t think it’s affecting him to be honest, I know his character and I know he’s just going to get on with things and prove people wrong. As i’ve said, he’s shown everyone how good he is, so I don’t doubt him.”

Alexander-Arnold will hope to continue his form tomorrow after he got on the scoresheet in midweek against Rangers.

His performances haven’t been as good as they can be but there is always someone who has to take the blame more than others at any big club.

Trent is the one who is bearing the brunt of things at Liverpool right at this moment in time. Sure, he’s not been at his best, but has he been the very worst? That is up for debate.

Tomorrow is a big game against Arsenal and if he can put in a good performance and push Liverpool to a win, then the negative talk will soon start to die away.
