Steven Gerrard signed Kyle Lafferty in the summer transfer window, as he rejoined Rangers for a second stint at Ibrox.
But the centre-forward has underachieved so far and has been unable to replicate the form he showed for his former club Hearts.
The 31-year-old has slipped to third-choice in the striker pecking order behind Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe, which is why he needs to do much more with the opportunities presented to him.
The Northern Ireland international has made 25 appearances for Rangers so far this season, scoring just five goals and supplying one assist.
Lafferty has looked fairly sluggish in recent games that he’s been introduced and is hardly making a claim to be a regular starter.
The Gers could certainly play to his aerial strength more when he’s on the pitch and he should give them a different dimension in attack.
But he’s look disinterested at times and needs to put himself about on the pitch.

Rangers still have plenty to play for this season in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals against Aberdeen and also trying to close the eight-point gap to leaders Celtic in the league.
Gerrard needs some of his other attackers to step up to the plate other than just Morelos and the void is there for 6ft 4in target man Lafferty to come good in the remainder of the campaign.
He’s scored just one goal in 2019 so far and perhaps needs to knick a couple more to restore some confidence in front of goal.
