Kundai Benyu’s Swedish loan move is his final chance to save his Celtic career

Celtic have loaned young midfielder Kundai Benyu out to Swedish top division side Helsingborgs, Sky Sports News reports.

Benyu moves to Helsingborgs on a one-year loan deal lasting until January 2020 and this could be his final chance to prove himself to Celtic.

The 21-year-old has not enjoyed much success since moving to Scotland from Ipswich Town as a youngster.

Benyu joined Celtic in summer 2017, penning a four-year deal with the Scottish Premiership heavyweights after leaving Ipswich.

He had not made a first-team appearance for the Tractor Boys but had been thoroughly impressive for Aldershot Town on loan.

But since moving to Celtic, Benyu has managed just four appearances, with only one of them coming in the league.

The twice-capped Zimbabwe international also spent time on loan at Oldham Athletic in England, but managed just four outings for the Latics.

After failing to make a single appearance for the first-team this season, Benyu needs to prove himself in Sweden.

He has been given a fresh start and with a new manager at the helm next season, he needs to show what he can do.

If the London-born midfielder is a success in Sweden, then he returns to Celtic with a chance of breaking into the first-team.

But if he fails to catch the eye at Helsingborgs, he could be shipped permanently in January 2020.
