Celtic legend Henrik Larsson has been appointed as the new manager at Helsinborgs. It will be his second stint in charge of his former club, with whom he also played for on two separate occasions.
It will see him working with one current Celtic player. Kundai Benyu is currently on loan at the club from Parkhead. He has even told Helsingborgs Dagblad how friends back in Glasgow are trying to get Larsson’s autograph.
“I hope he can give us a new start”
“My friends at Celtic have heard about it and asked if I can fix autographs.”
Benyu will also hope it can help him push back into Celtic’s first-team picture.
When Celtic snapped up Benyu from Ipswich Town it looked like he could be a surprise first-team member. He started the 2017-18 season in the Celtic first-team.
However, he soon dropped down the pecking order and also had an unsuccessful loan spell at Oldham Athletic in 2018.
With that in mind, Celtic sent him out on loan to Sweden in February but he has again struggled to establish himself with the struggling Allsvenskan side.
Hopefully, the Celtic legend Larsson can get the best out of Benyu once again. If not, then the Zimbabwe international surely has no long-term future at Parkhead.
