Kun Temenuzhkov has posted on Instagram to confirm has has joined third-tier Spanish side Real Union on loan from Leeds United – but has the Bulgarian played his last game for Leeds United, following the move?
Temenuzhkov, 20, joined Leeds in the summer of 2017 from Barcelona’s youth side and he has since been a regular in the club’s Under-23 side. Scoring regularly for the reserve team, Temenuzhkov has failed to make the step up.
Just one solitary first-team outing came under Marcelo Bielsa in an FA Cup defeat to QPR in January 2019. Temenuzhkov then went on loan to CF La Nucia, where he played only twice before the season was cut short.
Now, Temenuzhkov has returned on loan to Spain’s third tier – joining Real Union on a season-long loan. He confirmed as much on his official Instagram page, as he looks to finally get some regular, senior game time.
The post is translated as: “Happy and grateful for this opportunity and to join Real Union this season. I have a great desire to get started and I wish Leeds United may successes this season in the Premier League.”

TBR’s view – Set to leave permanently?
But has Temenuzhkov played his last game for Leeds? Granted, the Bulgaria Under-21 international has only ever played once for Leeds but could his loan spell mean he will never pull on a white shirt again?
His contract expires at the end of the season and given he has gone on loan until then, it is expected he will leave for nothing next June. Even if he scores a hatful of goals, he will hardly see his contract renewed.
