Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer heaped praise on teammate Scott Bain for one individual moment in Wednesday night’s win over Aberdeen.
The Bhoys recorded a fifth straight league win by beating Aberdeen 1-0 at Parkhead, albeit in a game that was flat at certain times.
David Turnbull was the match-winner with his superb 14th strike from distance, with the assist going to Callum McGregor after he had carried the ball forward from his own half.
But Ajer felt that Celtic goalkeeper Bain had a huge role to play in the decisive goal.
The 29-year-old shot-stopper technically played the pre-assist with his ball to McGregor in the centre of the park, as the team continuously searched to play out from defence.
“It’s important to look at Bainy’s pass for the goal as well,” Ajer said, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“It’s easy to look at Turnbull’s great strike and Callum driving with the ball but if Bainy doesn’t play that pass there wouldn’t have been a goal. With his left foot as well, to find Callum in midfield was incredible.”

TBR’s View:
It was hardly anything spectacular from Bain with his pass into McGrgegor, especially when you compare it to the kind of things that Manchester City’s Ederson does in goal.
But the Celtic goalkeeper is someone that can play out from the back and it was another clean sheet for him against Aberdeen.
Unfortunately, Celtic fans have very little to cheer about even with another victory and are dejected that they sit 15 points behind Rangers in the table, who look set to take the league crown from them.
