Kris Commons has told BBC Sport that Celtic interim manager Neil Lennon would be a much better addition to the squad on a permanent role, rather than a foreign boss.
Lennon remains in charge until the end of the season and has guided his Celtic side to an eighth successive Scottish Premiership title. He remains unbeaten since he took over in February.
He is on course to make it a triple treble as they take on Hearts in the Scottish Cup final, and winning that is likely to have a big say on whether the former Bolton and Hibernian manager remains in the role this summer.
Former Celtic man Commons is surprised that a manager has not been appointed yet, but also discussed whether a foreign manager would do a better job than Celtic legend Lennon.

“Let’s say it’s a new foreign manager, then he’s only got two or three weeks training with a squad which he’s taking into some of the most important games Celtic have,” Commons said.
“I just think that’s a little bit of a risk for me. Whereas I think Neil Lennon would be a safe pair of hands.”
TBR’s view
Celtic have got to hire Lennon. To remain unbeaten since he took over, given the upheaval that came with the immediate exit for Brendan Rodgers, he has done impeccably well.
Commons is right. Bringing in a new manager now would leave Celtic having to get to know the new manager, whereas they know where they stand with Lennon.
Plenty of managers have been linked including Roberto Martinez and even Jose Mourinho, but Commons believes Lennon is the man for the job.
