Kris Boyd has told The Scottish Sun that he has been left baffled by Jordan Jones’s behaviour with the Rangers winger receiving a suspension that has seemingly left his Ibrox future in doubt.

Rangers announced on their official website on Monday that Jones, along with George Edmundson, has been suspended for breaching Covid guidelines.

Gers fans would be forgiven for being incredibly disappointed by the pair’s actions. Of course, it remains to be seen if they are given another chance by Steven Gerrard in the future.

Boyd is not optimistic for either player. But he expressed his particular bemusement about Jones’s actions having played alongside the winger before his Ibrox switch.

“This doesn’t look good on either of them,” he told The Scottish Sun.

“I played with Jordan at Kilmarnock and he deserved to get his move to Rangers. He earned it for his performance and I was delighted for him.

“But to throw it away like this baffles me.”

TBR View: Jones may have thrown away all his good work this season

There are likely to be plenty of Rangers fans who agree with Boyd and feel that Jones and Edmundson should not play for the club again.

If Gerrard is thinking similarly, it will be a great shame. Edmundson looks to have a bright future ahead. And he has already produced a couple of colossal performances for the Light Blues.

Jones meanwhile, had seemingly done brilliantly to fight his way back into Gerrard’s plans. And his outstanding goal against Motherwell in September looked set to be a defining moment in his Rangers career.

Unfortunately for the Northern Ireland international, it appears that the defining moment actually came a couple of months later.
