Kris Boyd aims hilarious dig at Celtic after Rangers see off Lech

Rangers won out in Europe tonight as they saw off Lech with ease to top their Europa League group and ease into the next round, much to the delight of Chris Boyd.

The Gers, managed brilliantly once again by Steven Gerrard, cruised past Lech thanks to goals from Itten and Hagi, while James Tavernier was once again in fine nick.

Boyd, who was commentating for Sky Sports on the game, was a delighted man following the win. And after he’d done praising Gerrard and the Rangers pleased, the former Gers striker couldn’t resist a dig at Andy Walker and Celtic.

“Rangers have done their job tonight, I’ve done mine. I’m going to hand you over to Andy Walker, who I might add, have made more statements than they’ve had victories in the last two months,” Boyd said.

The win for Rangers further underlined their credentials as challenges both on the domestic and European front this season.

Under Gerrard, the Gers look seemingly unstoppable and it will take a good team to see them off in the next stage of the Europa League.

Nothing wrong with this from Boyd. It’s what football is all about and it will have made Rangers and Celtic fans chuckle, no doubt.

Rangers have been superb this season and Boyd is rightfully delighted with what he is seeing. Goals, solid defending, and crucially, wins.

What more could he want? His little dig here was warranted and quite frankly, funny.
