Chelsea loanee Mateo Kovacic wants to remain in the Premier League next season, according to Spanish outlet Marca.
They report that the transfer ban enforced for two windows at Stamford Bridge has complicated Kovacic’s situation but he does not want to return to Real Madrid and is settled in the Premier League.
He is reportedly specifically settled in London and that should provide encouragement for other top flight clubs in the capital over a summer move.
Back in December, AS reported that Tottenham were keen on Kovacic, even when Chelsea were in a position to make his loan move permanent.

So now that Chelsea cannot buy Kovacic, and the midfielder wants to be back in the capital next season, it looks set for Spurs to make a summer swoop.
Spotrac claim that Kovacic earns £75,000 per week, which should not pose a problem, even for the notoriously frugal Spurs, and they need a replacement for Mousa Dembele, who left for China in January.
And although Kovacic has struggled at times for Chelsea, he has not been helped by the fact he is consistently chopped and changed for Ross Barkley by Maurizio Sarri and that the Blues have faltered at times this term.
He does have the class and quality Spurs need and it’s time for Daniel Levy to pounce.
