'He is always there': Kostas Tsimikas says Liverpool have a 'world class' player who he spends so much time with
Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas has been singing the praises of fellow Reds star, Andy Robertson, ahead of this week’s Champions League games.
The Reds take on Rangers in a huge tie in Europe. However, Liverpool must find some confidence from somewhere after once again dropping points this weekend against Brighton.
Jurgen Klopp will have big decisions to make in terms of his first XI. Left-back is one of those big calls, where both Tsimikas and Robertson proved Klopp with fine options. Of course, for now, Tsimikas could get the nod given Robertson is injured.
And speaking in the pre-match press conference, Greek star Tsimikas was full of praise for his fellow left-back.
“First of all, Andy is a very good person and a world-class player. Whatever I need when I play, he is always there to help me and to show me what I can do better, or to help me to find where I have to cross, where is the gap,” Tsimikas said to Liverpool’s official channels.
“I also help him when I am on the bench and I see the game from [the] outside. He’s a good guy, we spend time in the dressing room and we always speak about everything and I really thank him for all of this.”
TBR’s View: Robertson A Class Above At Liverpool
The praise from Tsimikas here is worthwhile and it just shows how well-respected Andy Robertson is at Liverpool.
Robertson remains one of the best left-backs in the world and Liverpool really need him back in action ASAP. The Scot is the best Liverpool have and while Tsimikas is a brilliant player himself, Robertson simply takes Liverpool to another level.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping Robertson is back soon enough, while Tsimikas fills in and does a job he’s more than capable of.
