Newcastle United ace Miguel Almiron has been in great form this season and added to his goal tally against Everton on Wednesday night.

The Magpies ace had four goals from 10 Premier League outings going into the meeting with the Toffees.

And in the first half, Almiron took his tally to five for the season, opening the scoring on the half-hour mark.

The Paraguayan’s effort was a beauty, a curling effort from just outside the box after he was teed up by Joelinton.

However, Almiron missed the chance to put Newcastle out of Everton’s reach in the 54th minute.

He drifted inside, worked the ball onto his left foot and bent an effort towards goal, but it went wide this time.

Almiron’s effort had Jordan Pickford scrambling, but Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie noted how the player wasn’t happy.

“Everton have been the better side in this half. Iwobi is playing in the No. 10 role now,” Hendrie said on Soccer Special.

“Almiron tries to bend it into the corner again. He puts his head into his hands, he knows he should have done better.”

Luckily for Newcastle, it didn’t matter in the end, as the Magpies went on to record a 1-0 win over Everton.

In reality, Eddie Howe’s side didn’t have much to worry about, with the Toffees failing to muster a single shot on target.

Almiron is on fire at present and bursting with confidence, which is absolutely great to see.

One missed effort isn’t the end of the world by any means, and he’ll surely fancy his chances against Tottenham at the weekend.
