Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hinted that England under-21 star Eddie Nketiah could get the nod this weekend against Leeds United.
The young striker has shared the striking role with Alexandre Lacazette this season in the main but once again was in and among the goals for the Young Lions this past week.
A number of Gunners fans have been calling on Nketiah to get the nod from Arteta since his double in midweek. And speaking ahead of the game with Leeds on Sunday, the Arsenal boss has hinted the England youngster could is in his thoughts. (Arsenal Official)
“He’s another one that is fighting and knocking on the door every day. I really like his mentality. He’s cultured, he comes into the training ground and he says ‘I should’ve scored four’ so that’s the type of ambition and hunger that you want from players. I am really happy.”
Nketiah has scored three times for Arsenal this season. But it’s his form with England that has caught the eye in the main.
He has 12 goals in just 10 games for the Young Lions, a remarkable record that has seen him enhance his already growing reputation in English football. Furthermore, he could well be keen to get in on the act against Leeds this weekend, given he had a loan spell at Elland Road last term.

In terms of bringing someone into the fold who is right in form, few can argue Nketiah is the man for the job at the moment.
Obviously, he needs to transform his England form to club level. If he can do that, then there’s a big chance that Nketiah can force Arteta to pick him on a weekly basis without question.
It could be written in the stars for Nketiah, too, given his links with Leeds.
