Jude Bellingham being linked to Liverpool is the story of the winter so far when it comes to the transfer market.
Every man and his dog knows that Liverpool are keen on signing the England man. However, Bellingham’s superb performances in the World Cup have seen his stock rise even more. A host of big clubs are now hoping to sign him, meaning Liverpool’s push could be in vain.
However, one thing Liverpool do have is a convincing and charismatic manager in Jurgen Klopp. And writing in his weekly column for CaughtOffside, journalist Fabrizio Romano says that Klopp himself is pushing for Bellingham to Liverpool to get done.

“Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Chelsea. These are the clubs always mentioned regarding Bellingham. Manchester United are also in the race but it’s going to be more difficult for them,” Romano writes.
“Nothing has changed yet, nothing will be decided now. Jurgen Klopp is pushing for the deal, but it’s not decided, agreed or done yet. Once Borussia Dortmund will communicate the price tag, we will see! It will be more than the rumoured €100m.”
Liverpool received a boost in their pursuit of Bellingham this weekend as well. That came in the form of Real Madrid reportedly wanting Enzo Fernandez. If Madrid do land Fernandez, it could use up any funds they had designated for Bellingham.
TBR’s View: Klopp can be key in Bellingham to Liverpool talks
It’s a more old school way of doing things but sometimes it needs to happen. Getting the manager involved directly in talks can be the key to getting certain deals done.
And when Liverpool have someone as likeable as Jurgen Klopp, then it’s a tactic that can be used.
Bellingham does seem to be edging towards the Reds anyway. Klopp, then, might just be able to seal the deal if he is pushing things along here.
