Klaassen's comments about Allardyce prove once more Everton had to sack him
Davy Klaassen was never going to a Sam Allardyce player. The old-school English manager was brought to Goodison Park to sort out a mess which was partially caused by a surplus of number 10s.
The technically gifted former Ajax man was always going to trail behind Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney in the pecking order.
But the Dutchman has revealed how he was treated shabbily by Allardyce last season. That goes beyond not fancying a player into being a poor man-manager and treating people disrespectfully; just another piece of evidence that Big Sam had to go this summer.

Here’s what Klaassen told Dutch outlet Elf Voetbal about his treatment: “At one of his first trainings, I participated in the warm-up with the entire group. Then an assistant came to me and he said that they wanted to do a tactical training with 23 men.
“I was not in there and I asked: ‘What should I do?’ ‘Just ask the physical trainer’. [The trainer] said: ‘You can find out yourself’. Actually bizarre, but that’s how it went. You feel banned, yes. He would not listen to me.”
The disrespect from Allardyce is just further evidence that he was not a fit Everton manager; as if any more weight needed to be added to that particular argument.
