Liverpool have crashed out of the Champions League after drawing 0-0 with Real Madrid on Wednesday night, losing 3-1 on aggregate to Zinedine Zidane’s side – and Jerzy Dudek has praised a Madrid player on his Instagram.

Vinicius Junior scored a brace, and Marco Asensio netted last week as Liverpool lost 3-1 in Spain – with Mo Salah getting one for the Reds. But the odds were stacked against Jurgen Klopp’s side in the second leg on Wednesday.

Belgium international Courtois, 28, made a number of saves during the match, starting off with a crucial stop with his feet to deny Salah and Liverpool an early goal. James Milner saw a curling effort tipped over the bar.

Liverpool had a number of chances in the second half but ultimately, the scoreline read 0-0 and Liverpool were knocked out of the last eight. Dudek, who played for both sides, has raved about Real Madrid star Courtois.

TBR’s view – Courtois was excellent

But Liverpool will feel they should have scored. Salah’s chance in the opening few moments of the match was absolutely pivotal and perhaps it caught him cold, but the Egyptian should have really done better.

With a 2-0 scoreline the aim for Liverpool, scoring early would have given the Reds a proper platform to go on and win the match. Instead, the Reds failed to find the net throughout and have crashed out.
