Kieran Tierney will be ‘buzzing’ if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signs new Arsenal contract

Kieran Tierney has claimed that he will be “buzzing” if Arsenal teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signs a new contract at the club.

Aubameyang’s future at the Emirates Stadium is the most talked about topic of the summer for the Gunners and the entire fanbase is desperate for the star centre-forward to commit his future to them.

The striker’s current deal has entered its final year and it would be an impossible task trying to find a replacement for him, as he’s scored 71 goals in just 110 appearances for the club.

The Daily Mail claims that the 31-year-old is still in discussions with Arsenal about a new deal, worth a potential £250,000-a-week.

Arsenal left-back Tierney has described Aubameyang as a huge player for the club and explained he’s been a big help for him since joining last year, so is desperate for him to sign a new deal.

“Hopefully [he will extend], he’s brilliant. He’s brilliant for the team and for me,” Tierney told Sky Sports News.

“Playing with him is an absolute joy. He’s one of the best, most humble guys I’ve ever met as well. He’s a great captain, he leads by example. If we can sign him I’ll be buzzing to be honest with you.”

TBR’s View:

Aubameyang is quite clearly the talisman for Mikel Arteta’s side and it’s imperative that he remains part of the team moving forward, as their attacking play goes through him.

He’s a goal machine that is good as any of the elite strikers in the Premier League and he’s starting to get the recognition he deserves, but Arsenal fans have known since day one they have a special talent on their books.

Arteta is beginning to show he’s got a strong group of players to work with and they perhaps need a few more signings to really put them in a strong position, but it would be a colossal step backwards if Aubameyang were to exit.
