Kieran Tierney feels Arsenal are a stronger side this season and has spotted a ‘sign’ they could become Premier League champions.
Speaking to the Scottish Football Podcast, the Arsenal loanee was asked about Mikel Arteta’s side’s title chances this season.
Tierney was part of the Arsenal side that ultimately fell short last season after a disappointing run towards the end of the campaign.
The Scotsman wasn’t a regular starter last term and has since joined Real Sociedad on a season-long loan deal in search of regular first-team football. But Tierney has been keeping an eye on Arsenal’s progress this season and he’s been impressed with their form.
Indeed, the former Celtic man believes the Gunners’ habit of winning games while not being at their best is a ‘sign of champions’.

Tierney on Arsenal’s title chances
Tierney was asked whether he thinks last season’s disappointment will serve Arsenal well in the run-in this time around.
“I think so, 100%,” he said. “Last season we were so close and maybe lacked a little bit of experience in the last few games.
“But I think even with the signings, they’re a stronger team this season. They’ve got more experience and you can see the results they’re grinding out, when there are games where they look like they might only pick up a point, they’ll pick up three points.
“That’s usually the sign of champions when the odds are against you and you’re not at your best but you find a way to win. I think that’s what they’re doing so far.”
He added: “I’ve not spoken to them too much and I don’t think they’d like to say too much this early on.
“When it gets to the same time as last year when we went down, you will be able to tell. They’ve started so strong this year, they’ve been brilliant.
“I’ve been keeping an eye on their games and watching when I can. They’re doing amazing and I’m buzzing for all the boys.”

There certainly seems to be a different resilience about this Arsenal side this season.
Last time out, they got off to a blistering start but were unable to maintain their form at the crucial stage of the campaign.
Arteta’s side have picked up several late wins this season and currently sit second place, just a point behind league leaders Liverpool.
The Gunners have suffered some disappointing results this season, with their most recent coming away to Villa on Saturday.
Yet, they remain right in the mix at the top and haven’t even reached their best form.
