It would be fair to say that Everton fans have not been seeing the best of Gylfi Sigurdsson this season. In 2017, the Toffees paid Swansea City a fee reported by the BBC to be in the region of £45 million for the Icelandic international.
However, Everton have only seen glimpses of his brilliance and since the turn of the year, he has been almost anonymous for Marco Silva’s men.
So if Everton were to decide that he needs replacing next season, it could be an expensive exercise. However, there is an Everton loanee showing he might deserve a chance to do so out on loan in the Championship.

Kieran Dowell has been sensational since joining Sheffield United on loan. He scored the winning goal yesterday in a crucial 1-0 win over promotion rivals West Brom at The Hawthorns.
But it is his overall play that warrants merit. Excellent on the ball, a brilliant passer and comfortable in either foot, Everton fans can finally see why he has been so highly rated in the England set-up in recent years.
Next season, he should be challenging the £45 million man for a place in the Everton starting XI.
