Summer signings Jack Baldwin and Tom Flanagan have formed an impressive partnership at Sunderland this season.
Despite having competition from Alim Ozturk and Glenn Loovens, Baldwin and Flanagan are the regular choices at centre-half.
Their dominance at the back has provided the platform for success at The Stadium of Light this season.
But tonight, they face their biggest test yet since forming their partnership together at Sunderland.
Baldwin and Flanagan will have to deal with Kieffer Moore, who is leading the line impressively for Barnsley.
Standing at 6ft 5in tall, Moore is the perfect target man for the Tykes and he is dominant in the air.
But the 26-year-old is also impressive with the ball at his feet and many of his goals are scored in this manner.
Moore has 10 goals in 18 games this season and his tally of nine league goals ranks him just behind Josh Maja in the golden boot race.
Baldwin and Flanagan need to be on top form to ensure Moore is kept quiet tonight.
Barnsley will play with the big man as the central figure and limiting Moore’s effect will nullify the Tykes’ attacking output.
If Barnsley trail, they might bring on Cauley Woodrow, who is in good form and will also be tough to handle.
