Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips was linked with a move to the club’s fierce domestic rivals Manchester United over the weekend. The Sun reported that members of the Red Devils coaching staff had twice been to watch the player in recent weeks.
Whilst Leeds fans will be fearful of losing Phillips if they fail to win promotion this season many will be desperate for his next destination not to be Old Trafford.

Phillips is a local lad and considered one of their own by the Leeds support. For him to move to their Lancashire enemies would not be well received.
So Leeds supporters can take hope from a video that has reemerged on social media this week.
Northern Irish Leeds United Twitter user SJWilson30 grabbed a word with Phillips at some point this season and told him of his 11-year-old son’s Manchester United supporting ways.
To which Phillips responded. He suggested, despite the lad’s tender years, the Leeds United fan might want to ‘kick him out’.
Leeds fans have been stung before by players leaving for their rivals. Rio Ferdinand and Alan Smith both made the move during the club’s financial demise. The latter, in particular, is comparable to Phillips’ situation considering the upbringing of both Leeds United mad players.
Hopefully, on this occasion, Leeds fans will not have to deal with a similar disappointment.
