Arsenal secured an excellent 2-0 win over Manchester United at The Emirates on Wednesday evening thanks to goals from Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis – but Kevin-Prince Boateng heaped praise on another Gunners star, via Instagram.
Both goals came in the first half as Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal looked rejuvenated, hard-working and finally buying into what a manager was instructing his players to do. Mesut Ozil looked a completely different player to the one struggling earlier on.
Before Kolasinac finally went off in the second half, the Bosnian powerhouse was in majestic form. Coming into the side after recovering earlier than expected, he starred on the left flank and laid on an assist for the opener.
Kolasinac is currently first-choice on the left side of defence after Kieran Tierney underwent surgery on his shoulder, following the dislocation he suffered in the 3-1 win over West Ham United. The £100k-a-week star (Spotrac) posted on Instagram.
Kolasinac may be rested next time out as The Gunners prepare to take on a tricky challenge in Championship leaders Leeds United. Eddie Nketiah could play against Leeds after being recalled by the Gunners from the Whites.
Former Tottenham player Boateng pushed aside north London rivalries to heap praise on Kolasinac on Instagram, replying to the defender’s Instagram post by describing his former Schalke teammate as the “man of the match”.
